Solidarity With The Homeless On the night of November 30 in 18 degree weather, the students at Cheektowaga Central High School, Buffafo, New York spent the night in cardboard boxes on the school front lawn as a social justice project. This was supposed a show of solidarity with the local homeless population. The homeless would have been a little shocked at the living conditions the students had to put up with during the long cold night. According to the report by the Buffalo News, the local newspaper, the suffering students had only their DVD players and movies to keep themselves entertained, while getting by on donated Dunkin' Donuts and pizzas. The rough part was that they had to walk all the way across campus to the school's heated gymnasium whenever they got cold or too bored. Hopefully the homeless people's spirits were lifted by the students enduring for at least a night of what they go through every night. Of course it's a little more of a burden for them than it was for the students, as they probably have to do with generic donuts, regular CD players and the gym may not be as warm as they'd like.
